Week 8: Roles of Institutions For Sustainable Development (SDG 16 & 17)
For this week's topic, we explored the roles of institutions for sustainable development in SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). These two goals show that we need strong cooperation with each other to create a fair system and a better world. Firstly, SDG 16 made me realize that peace is not just about not having wars, instead, it is about making sure humans feel safe, and have access to justice and fair law in the society. Institutions like the police, the courts, and schools play significant roles in protecting public safety in this country. If these institutions are corrupt, it is hard for people to trust them and give their cooperation. That is why having a trustworthy and strong institution is vital.
