       For this week's topic, we explored the roles of institutions for sustainable development in SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). These two goals show that we need strong cooperation with each other to create a fair system and a better world.      Firstly, SDG 16 made me realize that peace is not just about not having wars, instead, it is about making sure humans feel safe, and have access to justice and fair law in the society. Institutions like the police, the courts, and schools play significant roles in protecting public safety in this country. If these institutions are corrupt, it is hard for people to trust them and give their cooperation.         For this week’s lessons, we started our discussion with the issue of Jalur Gemilang, illegal durian farming, and the construction of the illegal temple. Some students argued that the issue of Jalur Gemilang being upside down is not forgettable and unforgivable as it needs to be followed by legal actions by the authorities. As we all agree, Jalur Gemilang is our identity, and people need to be respectful as it is our dignity and pride. Thus, apologizing is not enough in this case. Nevertheless, some students got different opinions by saying they deserved the apology and should be given a lighter punishment. Next, regarding the issue of the construction of illegal temples and durian farming, most students agreed that the person involved should ask the owner’s permission first before doing anything to the land as it must be unfair to those who owned the property legally.        This week, we learned about education in IIUM and Malaysia in general. Prof Suhaimi asked us to answer 5 questions about education. The first question is “Is there anything wrong with the university’s education system now?” Some students said that the curriculum in Malaysia is not advanced and needs to be improved for a better future like the US education. The answer to the second question “Do you receive education that is needed by society's needs or what industry needs?” is society needs as some students said that IIUM education is more to teach their students to give benefits to the society. Apart from that, Prof Suhaimi also told us that we need to be balanced people depending on the situation. For instance, the wife needs to sacrifice her job to take care of their sick children in the hospital.       In week 5, Prof Suhaimi conducted the class online, and we were taught about the topic of Madani. Madani is a policy framework and government slogan introduced by the administration of the 10th Prime Minister. In this class, we learned that there are a lot of things that the government has done for the people, such as the Madani Clinic. Moreover, the goal of the Madani is to create a community that is “Sejahtera” and in harmony in every sector.      Next, we also shared our group project topic with the whole class and consulted with Prof Suhaimi.
